Support for California Senate Bill 747

I've been mobilizing organizational support for SB 747 for the last couple months. The bill would require any health providers renewing their licenses in California to take a short continuing education course in LGBTQ cultural competency and safety.

The Pacific Center, Lavender Seniors, the National Association of Social Workers-California Division, SF Chapter of CAMFT, the Trevor Project etc. are all supporters of the bill. We could use more support from health providers' organizations throughout the state. So if you have contacts with the leadership of those organizations please contact me and I'll help them contact EQCA and Senator Kehoe's office.

We're also looking for leaders of Kaiser Permanente's LGBTQ Pride organization to ask for their support for the bill. Kaiser's corporate office opposes the bill and we're looking for contacts with the Pride organization. Please feel free to forward this to other organizations.
